Mary Mitchell O'Connor hosts cross border networking event in the Dail

Thursday 05 July, 2012

Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD hosted two different network groups from both sides of the border yesterday (Wednesday June 13) on a visit to the Dail. The two groups in attendance were Network Ireland and Women in Business Northern Ireland. 63 Business Women from both north and south took part in this historic cross border networking event which was a return visit as Women in Business Northern Ireland had hosted Network Ireland on a trip to Stormont last June.

Network Ireland Lobbying Officer Mary Kershaw commented “A lot of our members are owner business and we know the importance of Networking and helping each other in business.  The concept for last year’s event was ‘Networking the Networks’ which offered delegates the opportunity to network and explore partnership opportunities with our colleagues in the North. It was so successful last year that we simply wanted to return the favour and we are so grateful to Mary Mitchell O’Connor for facilitating us”

Ms. Kershaw said that one of her goals for 2011 as Network Ireland President was to ensure that Network Ireland’s membership had a strong forum where women in business, the professionals and in the Arts could develop their businesses by increasing their contacts, exchanging ideas and reaching new markets.
